dd elle – “Love Me Only”

The first thing that strikes me about this track as different from the mass of dreamy electronic-produced music that has been springing up from all corners of the web is its thoughtful composition. Now, what I mean is that dd elle fills space with sparse instrumentation infused with the subtlest of effects as opposed to choosing a chord progression and blasting it with plug-ins. The delay is incredibly understated and notes are allowed to run their course. There is no clashing feedback from reverb drenched delays, phasers, or flangers shoving for place between notes. Instead, the song is filled by carefully placed instrumentation. One begins where another ends and frequencies rarely overlap. The result: an incredibly clean, relaxing, pure-sounding track. Bravo dd elle, bravo.
