Lido – “Ain’t No Sunshine” (Remix)

Lido’s incredible interpretation of Bill Withers‘ classic opens with rain. The water collects somewhere overhead and drips in a pattern consistent with the arpeggiated chords. The sound is lighter and results in an almost playful backdrop to Withers’ soulful vocals. Pitter patter, pitter patter, and then – BOOM! Thunder and lighting mingle in pulsating flashes and the entire weight of the heavens bears down upon you. Lido weaves in and out of the lightness of the rain and the heaviness of the storm to create a powerful track that you can quite literally swim through.

Lido has an EP set to release “soon” via Pelican Fly. Until that ambiguous date, you can listen to more Lido here.
