Mister Lies – “Hounded”

On some highway somewhere between here and Nevada I slipped in and out of consciousness. My dreams flirted with the rushing scene outside the window and teased my mind with fantastic landscapes I’m sure I’ve never seen. Everything before me throbbed and shuddered. Everything was breathing. Inhale, the world. Exhale, the collapse of the former that revealed, or at least hinted at, what I was sure were the rules that governed. Expansion and contraction. Almost random, irregular manipulations of three dimensional space. The feeling of all points condensing into a single point over and over again in infinite, non-linear chains. I suddenly came to, acutely aware of my waking dream. My headphones were on and “Hounded” was playing. Even in hindsight it all felt very wild.

Mister Lies is multimedia artist and producer Nick Zaneca. “Hounded,” featuring Exitmusic comes from his debut full length, Mowgli, and is only a taste of the album’s building brilliance. He has opened for the likes for The xx, Jessie Ware, Xiu Xiu, and Young Galaxy and is set to release a new album through Orchid Tapes later this year.
